We just found out that my Dad has lung cancer and he does not have a lot of time unless something amazing happens. Mom was also diagnosed just 3 weeks before with Breast Cancer. Her’s was a very small tumor that they removed and she is fine.

Dad is no spring chicken at 82 but he is in very good shape other than this. He logged in the BWCA back in the late 50’s and early 60’s. I spent the first 4 years of my life in Camp 6 about 40 miles from Ely living in a tarpaper shack and eventually in a 8X32 ft trailer house. He has worked hard all of his life and was still working last week.

I will be spending as much time as possible with Dad and Mom, we will be hunting, fishing, and I hope to get them to a Packers Game if Dad is strong enough to go.

Please say a prayer for them, and don’t forget how special family is and how short life is!!

We are hoping to find a Clinical studies that he might be elidgble for, there are some amazing things that they can do now but prayer can also do a lot.

Thanks and hope to see a bunch of you guys on the ice again this year.

I will be sure to keep you all in my thoughts & prayers. I’ll also add you all to our prayer list at church. Just 2 yrs. ago, I lost my sister & sister-in-law within 7 months of each other to cancer. So, I understand the pain and journey ahead. May God bless you all and give you all the strength needed to get through this and touch your parents with his healing hands. Take care and God Bless you all.

Thank you all so very much, it really means a lot to me. Dad had his PET Scan, this will give the doctors a much better idea if the cancer has spread and how fast it is growing.

We have a fishing trip with Dad, his brother and all of the cousins at the end of September to Bitter Lake near Waubay SD. We fished there last year and had a blast. Dad and his brother got into the Crown Royal Black one evening and it was something I will never forget. Let’s just say I had to put dad to bed that night!!

I hope he has enough time left to get in a good icefishing trip, I would like to take him up to fish with Chris Granrud of Rainydaze if he has the strength to do it.

Again thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Dad had his first radiation treatment yesterday and is headed back today. So far he is doing well, still has his sense of humor and is looking forward to our fishing trip to Waubay in September.

We are spending next week in Eagle River, every year my sister rents a place on Scattering Rice Lake and we do nothing but fish, eat, drink, and play cards!!! I cannot wait until Saturday!!!
