We were at the drive-in the other night, and it became pretty obvious I needed a new bed in back of the truck. Now get your mind out of the gutter, it was family night and yes the kids came with. So I wrote AirBedz, replies are below. Needless to say, Rick has my money and I have a new bed coming:

I miss drive ins. Out here in California they’re all either swap meets now or gone completely and had condos built on the lots-except for 1 or 2 out in the middle of nowhere.
I’d like to tell you we’ve never had an AirBedz leak, but you already know that with every air mattress on the market there is a degree of failure, though manufacturers won’t tell you this.
What I can tell you about AirBedz is that we absolutely honor our 1 Year Warranty and do everything we can to keep our customers happy. We also do random tests where we pull mattresses from our warehouse stock and inflate them for 24 hours to lessen our to consumer defective percentages. This is in addition to the testing that goes on at the factory. Our AirBedz Original (blue) is made from a Polyester cloth material and much more rugged than a typical mattress. Our AirBedz Lite (green) is made from a higher grade PVC than most and since we put them to market in May of this year we have not had one returned due to air loss.
I must tell you that our model PPI-102 (Full Size Short Bed 6.5′) is on back order, we have plenty of the other models. We have some factory refurbished models that you can purchase at a discount. I can also direct you to a Vendor that still has PPI-102’s in stock.
If you decide to purchase an AirBedz I will personally inflate one for you and test it for the 24 hours to be sure you won’t have any problems.
AirBedz comes with a DC charger, the wheel well inserts are an optional accessory. If you have a Costco membership the wheel well inserts are included when you order through their on-line store. If you choose to purchase contact me and we can discuss some options.

I saw your order come through today, but to answer your question the longer bed would not have worked in a short bed as the area between the wheel well and cab are too small. And I grew up in Oklahoma, so I know what a prairie chicken is!
