Last Friday night when that line of storms came through the area, I was looking at the weather radar on Weather Underground. It showed “tornadic thunderstorm” right above Everts, the sirens were blaring and the marine radio was yelling “take cover you idiot” in not so many words.
Since the FW was down, it takes a bit to get her dressed in her color coordinated cloths…but we did make it to the safety of the public restrooms at the resort with Woody literally in hand.
Turned out not to be that big of deal at the resort.
Mean while..at home, our neighbor said lightening hit a tree right next to our house, the branch came down and took power out of the whole block.
Turns out that it wasn’t lightening, it was just a large branch that came down on the power wires and shorted them out which cause a lot of sparking. The branch was charred so much I’m surprised it didn’t catch fire. That wouldn’t have been good.
When I came home after being at the resort, the only remains were a few piles of chain saw chips and a trailer full of brush.
