Two boats catch the same weight after 3 days? Don’t they make scales better than that today?

When you are swinging $65k to $20K you would think they could be a little more specific with weights. “When a tenth of an ounce counts, we only count ounces” lol

I get the format and how it all works with their rules. To go back to the next day and say, hey you had more so you win a “tie” is really unprofessional considering what the FLW stands for. After three days of fishing and 15 fish with each boat weighing the same just means the scales are not as professional as the circuit

Ounces are a more accurate measure than 10ths. An ounce is 16 units to a pound.

    You are correct.
If you take an ounce and split it up 10 times or even 100 it would look like this 77.123 and so on. I was just trying to say that when an ounce is a fairly large unit of measurement you would think they could break it down a little bit more.

After all there is a big difference when using 3/8oz and 1/8 oz jigs. All the promo guys know that.

I used the tenth of an ounce phase because on those digital readouts they are decimal figures not fractions.

What are you talking about? The units of measure are in 100th’s of a pound… it doesn’t get any more “broken down” than that. Ties happen. Though rare, it happens.. and to be bashing a very reputable organization like that…. well that’s just… “unprofessional.” Whether you agree with the tiebreaker or not, thats the way it is and always has been. It is the best and most consistent way to break a tie, as not everyone weighs a big fish, and having a fish off would be a lot of extra work for FLW to coordinate.

The difference between weighing 0.10 and 0.11 is a couple drops of water.
