Strike 1 for Greg Huff, IDO’s recently hired Social Media Director!!!

I’m sitting in my truck, engine idling, boat ready, lunch on ice… waiting to make a day run up to Mille Lacs to fish smallmouth and this guy’s late!

You’d think a guy would be on time for “work” when it meant he got to go fishing.

He showed about ten minutes late. I plan to punish him by making him net my fish all day.

Maybe he was sorting lures James, maybe trying to pick out a favorite for you, make him buy steak and eggs the next time lol. Did you see the walleyes in the Wapsipinicon thread In the Iowa forum. Believe it or not I’ve heard of bigger ones then these two, I’ve never said anything because people think your smokeing something, check them out if you haven’t, total hogs.

Don’t be to hard on the new guy James. I remember about ten years ago when a certain river guide was 30 minutes late meeting me in Lake City for a guided wing dam trip. I think his excuse was I got pulled over by the police for speeding and received a warning ticket I was thinking at the time that the guy was out a little to late the night before and had a hard time getting out of the sack.

My question should have been re-phased as “what’s wrong with my bow mount?!”

All I know right now is it cost us a day on the water. Nothing to report as far as the fishing goes. Fishing bass on Mille Lacs without an electric can be… tricky.

Too be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and too be late is to be forgetten.

I have left my buddies at home or made them drive themselves for being late. I will just flat out leave if they are not there at exactly the time agreed upon unless I get a call saying they are running late. Then again depending on the excuse they are on their own.

The trolling motor problem is definitely Greg Huffs fault. Nothing better then having a fall guy who can’t argue because they were late!!

So, assuming Greg remembered the camera , will we have some photo’s of the trip?

Photos of… what? Motor didn’t work. We couldn’t fix it. We went home. Come to think of it I think Greg took some pics of me driving while listening to the radio. I think that sums up our day pretty well. I’ll see if he can post.

You don’t know that developers and people in the tech field do not live by schedules?

If showing up on time was a prerequisite to fish with someone, I’d be fishing alone all the time. Because people would stop asking. Most learn to tell me that we are launching a half hour before we actually are. That’s my tip for you.

    James,
Sorry about the electric and no bass fishing.
Would of thought you’d troll up some nice Walleyes as long as you were already up there.
Check Brad’s report from this last weekend, we had a great time on Sunday.
