If anyone has a legal way to access the lake or has talked to wash. co. please enlighten us. Riverweed If you are so sure about what you speak of, go to a afton concil meeting. They will tar and feather you, I have known about this lake since 1970. all the landowners have a agreement only family gets in the gate. I am friends with one of the landowners father, drive by and stop on the road by the lake sometime.

I wonder how in the heck those bass get so big in there? Sounds like a real dandy of a place to live.

Ya, whatever. I would love to fish that lake. My kid has a couple times, my neighbor has passed, but he was blood relation. Should of seen the bluegills he used to bring home and he talked of 30lb northerns, I never saw any but the gills were nice. I have seen a few bass pics ,almost worth getting arrested. If you get a flat tire call AAA don’t get out of your vehicle

I’m looking at the Washington county GIS maps and I see another potential path for legal entry. http://maps.co.washington.mn.us/PropertyViewer/

The valley branch stream flows under County 21 (Stagecoach Trail.) I’m curious if a snowmobile or four wheeler could make legal entry riding up stream with a sled full of gear.

I’ve icefished out there and it wasn’t anything special. We drilled a ton of holes and covered the whole lake since it’s small. Got a few 7″ crappies. No bluegills. Fished it open water and got a pike that was 7-12lbs. I know that’s a wide range, but this was 7 years ago so I’m a little fuzzy on the exacts. A different buddy of mine did get a 21″ bass out there, so that goes about 5.5 to 6 depending on the girth. Fished a different lake up by Hugo and parked and accessed the lake legally and someone egged my buddies car one time and splattered it with paintballs the next.

If I remember right the water flowing in and out of the lake doesn’t freeze and I don’t think it is particularly “navigable”.
