They are designed differently…They both are SCII graphite but the Eyecons are lighter in weight with faster tapers available. Faster tapers mean smaller diameters up top.
While your Premier is still going strong, it is UL vs an MLF and not subject to the same line/lure conditions
They may allow you to switch, but also may chg you an extra $20. That was my case with a similar transaction last year.
If they try and charge me $20 I will decline and just sell the eyecon when it arrives and buy what I want. The two rods I am talking about are the same power/action and price (6’6 MLF, $110 retail).
With the $10 shipping to them, $20 check, and then another $20 to switch I would be spending nearly half the price of a new rod just for them to honor the warranty.
And actually, believe it or not I have been using the same set-up on both of them. The 6’6 MLF I use 6lb pline with 1/16-1/8oz jigs for walleye. And the UL I use 6lb trilene XL and 1/16-1/8 oz jigs for crappie. Granted my crappie are not the same size as the walleye I catch, they both get used about the same way and both handle what I usually catch just fine (sheepshead and catfish )
