I had to replace my wireless mouse and keyboard last week (both the old and new are MS) and I cannot get the mouse to work right.
The problem is it is not very precise at slow speed.
It gets so bad that the pointer actually moves (jerky motion) even when I’m not touching the mouse….if left alone the pointer will go half way across screen!
I have tried looking up new drivers, and changing settings with no effect.
The only thing I can think of is that my system has the 1.0 USB ports and this is probably a 2.0
    Any idea’s guys ??

If you’ve changed the mouse settings in the control panel and nothing works and this is new, take it back and exchange it. Make sure the batteries you had in it are fresh. I shouldn’t hurt that your PC is USB 1 and Mouse is USB 2 it’s all backwards compatible.

I agree with taking it back. If you machine is running fine otherwise and there is no lag, it seems you got a bad mouse.

I don’t remember the specs on USB 1.0, but have you tried unplugging the USB keyboard and seeing how the mouse performs? Maybe there isn’t enough bandwidth on that USB bus for both the keyboard/mouse combo ..

Is it a battery-powered mouse? I have seen some cases where a new battery in one of those is providing too much voltage. If that is the problem, leaving it on a couple days will drop the voltage to the level the mouse expects, and the mouse will operate properly from that point on.

Like said try unplugging and plug the USB. Sometimes my mouse freezes up unplugging and plugging it back remedies the problem.

Do you still have the hard wireed one plugged in?
I do as a back up just in case the batteries fail in the wireless. Sometimes when the hard wired one get inadvertently tilted the pointer starts acting up.

Ive had my wireless mouse 3 years and I still feel its going poop out on me. The day I store the hard wire mouse away the next day is when the wireless poops out on me and I know I’ll forget where I put the old one.
