Snatched up a few frogs from the tall grass this afternoon before heading out. Between leeches, crawlers and fatheads, frogs caught the most fish. High skies and water is 78. They are worth using if you can find them!

If you don’t mind me asking how were you rigging them for walleye? I use them a lot for channel cats and occasionally for pike and bass, but never tried them for eyes.

Hooked them right through the mouth. Bottom up into the top of the head. Sunnies can’t tear them off because they are really tough. I used a hammered violet and chrome blade on a long snell. My dad used the same setup but with a small hammered gold blade. These rigs were trolled over dense weeds at pretty good speeds.

Nightcrawlers were next best but they only take so many pecks from the sunnies. Leeches were third only producing 2 walleyes.

Now that is very interesting…you wouldn’t think walleye would see many frogs…

Was not confident at all until I saw the first white tail. Pretty impressed though! My dad kept saying they were just the right size (juveniles) IDK if that holds true but he was right about using them haha!

Walleyes do not see to many night crawlers either.
