The NCAA is just looking to line their pockets, as always. $60 million fine . . . paid to the good ol’ NCAA.

The least they could do give some of the money to the victims as restitution and if there’s any left over, donate it to charities that support victims of sexual abuse or something.

All 60 million is going into a special account that is to be donated 100% to charities preventing and educating about child abuse. Its going to be spread out to every city in the big 10. Money well spent. As far as the players go, they are free to transfer to any school they want and will be eligible to play immediatly, so I dont buy into the “why punish the players” argument. Also, the school isnt allowed to cut any of the non-revenue sports that the football team supports

Sadly, this will affect all students and faculty of Penn State, who had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with what Scamdusky did and Joe Pa ignored….I think Joe Pa got off/out easy and just in time. It will affect the school for decades, period. It will adevrsely affect the football program on the field close to a decade I am sure.

Are we tearing down the statue that represents the Catholic church and fining them for the actions of some of it’s members??

This can be said for every denomination/race/creed/social status/etc etc etc…. too bad so many innocent people are being hurt by the penalties. I would hope if there is a statue of a convicted pedophile, or one of someone who turned a blind eye to it at a house of worship, they would take it down.

Until a representative or even a student comes forward accepting or acknowledging sanctions or any other form of justice is acceptable I think its fair to say yes thousands are represented by a few.

By Pen State accepting slap on the wrist penalties does not count as they know complaining of a gift gets you nothing more.

YOu guys seem a little harsh. Everyone is either in Prison or dead, or no longer with the school. WHy punish the school now? DOn’t give me to make an example BS, I think other schools see what happend to J Pa and Sandusky. I think the ruling was harsh. SHouldn’t be any bans or scholarships lost. It’s the past you can’t make it right, move on and let them play ball. THe 60 million dollar fund is enough to help with the “healing” process for the victims. The never fully heal no matter what the penalites were.
