Howdy all. The Heisers were up to Aitkin for the 4th of July week. Hotteren heck. And Wendys Dad decides ” That woodpile needs some refreshing (afterwards we did also)”. Soo we split wood for what seemed like FOREVER. When that was done Wendys Ma cooked us a fine meal and then we were off to the pontoon (i love that word) for some trolling, no wakes mind you. So my son Willy was with us (i was weed watcher) and he was using a little spinner jig with the green and yellow rubberhair like stuff on it. Well he hooked a wally on the first cast and was reeling a bit excitedly and as the fish drew near the boat IT WAS A BIGG’N. Well as he learned “you should bring the net to the fish when it is by the boat’ . Well we reversed it and tried to bring the fish to the net and ….yup…the one that gottaway. As in life so goes in fishin , sometimes there is a right way to do things and a wrong. He was bummed as that was the only bite of the week for him. He said “Well that didnt work” but he is learning. He fishes alot down here and loves it. So even though our vacation netted no fish it landed us many memories and lessons learned. Have a super week, Wil
