Sorry you guys! Thursday and Friday were both so busy that I could not make it on here to post. Now I am lying on the bed in our hotel room getting hydrated once again. Dehydration sucks and it’s nothing to mess with, but it’s bound to happen when the heat index is 120 each day.

Both tournament days were really really hard. We had found fish but it was a tough bite. Our morning bite was insane on top of a sand flat and that’s where we would catch all of our fish to weigh in.

The fish here are strange but when they want to eat, it turns on really fast. But when they don’t they sit on the bottom of a ledge and it’s impossible to get them to bite. But if they decide to school, you’re day can be made. The biggest bag of the tournament so far came off of schooling bass. They saw them schooling when they were scrambling to find fish in the last hour. Dropped a spoon and brought in 18lbs.

I have learned a lot this trip. To much to even start stating now but we are happy with our effort. Something I can say i learned is that you have to remember that there are spotted bass down here, so check them to see if they fit the slot. I ended up throwing back spotted that would have given us another 2 lbs. So with that fish we would have ended up with around 10 lbs over 2 days.

We finished in the middle of the pack if not better. Lot’s of teams had a lot of trouble catching fish here. It’s a tough lake but I look forward to another chance at it in the future.

Learning is what really matters. If you learned a few new things then the trip and tourney was a success. Bass all around the US are a little different. But on thing is the same – They are all are a bass. You just need to figure them out. the fishing back home has been really good. so get back home and get out on the water.
