No, not at all. It could have happened anywhere…

Sorry. Let me rephrase: Given BKs experience, I,I,I now think twice when dining at the Bungalow…

The place DOES have a “storied” history … especially during the 1930’s
bootleg hooch and illegal gambling/slot machines during the prohibition era
frequented by Karpis, Dillinger, BabyFace, and the Barkers

Always interesting comments when self defense is the topic, for anyone who’s thinking of it, go take a good course on the use of deadly force and decide whether it’s for you or not, don’t depend on a forum where opinions are not always fact.

For those who think that just because they stay out of “that” part of town they are safe, I wonder what part of town the people in Denver were in?

It’s a big decision, whether you ever use deadly force or not, will change your life, give it more than a little thought.

    imho

i agree with you, Al. as this unfolds it will be interesting to see if CC played a part. As our social order breaks down, self protection becomes a greater part of each persons protocol. I’ve never had more women asking for help in learning how to shoot a pistol.
Of, course, it’s going to be ruff to have to take a 12 ga to a movie…

I doubt it would have made any difference if someone there was carrying. It was dark, he threw tear gas so you’ll likely not be seeing properly, and he was wearing kevlar.

There were too many bystanders running around, exits jammed, limited target size, and imparied senses. Also, any return fire is guaranteed to make you a priority target.

That’s a worst case scenario any way you slice it.

I felt sick this morning when I heard about it.

Since I wasn’t there, I don’t really have a clue but the way it was described a head shot would have been the only chance. All but the most experience person would have been able to do that if there was any distance between them.

Then thinking about missing the target and hurting others.

What could a person do? Just get down low, hope and pray?

    So very sad.

well at 5-6 ft, even with kevlar, it would have slowed things down. i think i’d have been diving for cover. getting shot in the back isn’t my best scenario.
    as BK says: Sad world.
BUT, still better than the alternative…

Biggest problem would be where the shots went, way to much probable chance of hitting others, be hard to get a good sight picture I’d expect.

On the other hand, kevlar or not, I’d lean towards it better to try and bring him down versus just letting him shoot myself and others.

Pretty ugly life when you have to consider CC to go to a movie..

live fire is another world, but i would hope that someone would have gotten low and fired up at him. There is going to be collateral damage. innocent people ARE going to be injured. But, 12+ died already and 50 more wounded. Isn’t that enuf ‘collateral damage’ already??

i realize it’s easy to talk tuff 20/20 and i certainly don’t CC off site enuf, but the world is changing and i’d like to adapt to survive…
