“Web Guy Greg” Huff to lead In-Depth Outdoors’ social media efforts
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – “Web Guy Greg” has a new web address – http://www.in-depthoutdoors.com.
Greg comes to In-Depth Outdoors with an impressive resume and noteworthy industry experience. Prior to accepting the Social Media Director’s role with In-Depth Outdoors, Greg earned his reputation as a social media wizard working for North American Fishing Club, where Greg played a key role in growing North American Fishing Clubs’ Facebook community by more than 500 percent in one year. In addition to leading IDO’s social media initiatives, Huff will have a prominent role in front of and behind the In-Depth Outdoors’s video cameras, as he assumes responsibility for the production of online content for In-Depth Outdoors’ rapidly growing online community.
In his time at NAFC, Huff built a considerable following in the fishing social media world under his Facebook handle, “Web Guy Greg,” and Twitter handle, “lazy_ike.” Additionally, Huff hosts a popular bass-fishing podcast, “Fantasy Fishing Insider,” writes a fantasy fishing column for bassmaster.com, freelances for B.A.S.S. Times magazine and produces and hosts product-demo videos for Fishhound.com.
“Greg has a very unique set of talents that made him the perfect fit for our Social Media Director position,” said In-Depth Outdoors TV host and CEO James Holst. “We were looking for someone that could drive all our social media efforts as well as take a lead role with the planning, production and promotion of new content destined for online distribution.”
Holst went on to provide a glimpse into In-Depth Outdoor’s plans for future expansion by adding, “another important asset that Greg brings to our team is that Greg is a self-professed ‘bass guy’ that will bring diversity to the In-Depth Outdoor’s team that currently has a very strong walleye and ice fishing background. Greg brings a nice balance to our team and our plan will be to diversify our content to include more bass-focused video and information, with Greg leading that charge.”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better new home,” Huff said. “With its entertaining, informative and engaging TV and online content and its active and passionate audience, I’ve found the perfect place to channel my enthusiasm and creativity. I’m looking forward to working with James Holst and the impressive team he’s built at In-Depth Outdoors.”
Prior to his work at North American Fisherman, Huff worked for more than a decade in the newspaper industry as an online producer, managing editor and news editor. A lifelong multi-species angler who moved to Minnesota from Nebraska to be closer to more fishable water, Huff began in 2010 applying his video, editing and writing skills in outdoor media.
In-Depth Outdoors TV broadcasts on Fox Sports North, offering 26 weeks of the hottest ice and open-water fishing action from the best lakes and rivers in North America. With its ability to educate and entertain, the In-Depth Outdoors Fishing Team keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from hook-set to landing net. Every In-Depth Outdoors episode is offered on-demand on idofishing.com as a streaming web video.
Also featured at in-depthoutdoors.com are fishing and hunting reports covering many species of fish and small game, along with reviews of the latest outdoor equipment. From walleye, bass, perch, catfish and more, to whitetail deer, turkeys and pheasants, outdoor enthusiasts can find all the info they need in IDO’s active online community.
When he’s not fishing or filming, Greg sings and plays rhythm guitar around the upper midwest with his americana/honky-tonk band, Lazy Ike & The Daredevils.
