How do you plan to troll them? Bottom bouncers? Lindy rig? 3 way rig? Trolling around structure or open water? baitcast or spinning?

    Mike,
One of your 3way river rods will do just fine . Give me a call if you need to borrow one .

Bottom bouncers with about a 3 ft lead or so. Fishing in about 25 to 30 ftw on the reefs and reef edges. I’m going to be doing it in the lakes around home to so I’m looking for a fairly long term investment with a nice rod and reel. I would prefer spinning unless a bait casting rod and reel is the way to go. Thanks a lot Dean I hope all is well with you!
    Thanks,

You’ll want to go with a caster given you’ll be looking at fishing 2 – 3 Oz. of lead at the depths you mentioned. Most spinning rods will be overworked carrying that much load, and as Dean already mentioned, the rod you’re using for river 3-waying will be perfect for what you’re trying to accomplish.

I started using Limit Creek rods a few years ago and love them. This year I bout two 12′ footers that came out and they are excellent when trolling multiple rods.

Well, I dont have the trolling set-ups these guys do.. So my trolling is sort of half- ‘d. When I troll like that I use a 7’6 H casting rod. For anyting under 2oz of weight I use a 7’ MH.

Of course I’m not fishing 3-4 rods out or using boards.

I use a medium action eight foot spinning rod for the BB approach.
