Spent last week with extended family on North Long Lake by Brainerd. Weather was perfect for the family activities since it was mostly swim/bike/play trip. Did manage to fish everyday by getting up before everyone else. Had some good fisher people in the family, but we all had a tough time getting into a regular pattern for fish. Gils and sunnies were hard to narrow down. I managed some nice bass everyday. Wife caught the biggest right from shore of course. Only 1 walleye caught and that was by me while gil fishing with bobber. We tried drifting/trolling/casting for walleye in the evenings and had NOTHING. Even with all the bass I caught, I did not have one set thing that worked all the time. I just had to keep trying several techniques during the day. Photo is of my biggest bass at 17″. Wifes was 17.5′. Thanks to all those who gave me some fishing tips. We tried all your suggestions.
