So due to a lighting storm the FW and decide we are getting off the lake. we pull into the harbor and park at the dock to get ready and load the boat, naturaly there was a line of others taking turns.
So in comes a boat load of jerks,3 to be presice, they dock their boat right on the ramp, one jumps out and runs to their truck while I am getting in mine,I start backing the trailer to the ramp and the jerk pulls right behind my trailer and blocks me.

This is for you my friend ,

I had a guy try to jump in front of me Sat when I was pulling my boat out. Then he acted like he didnt hear me. Then he *&$*&% heard me when I yelled I was next in his open WINDOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Had his kid with him. That’s how it perpetuates. He backed off then tried to be nice to me on the landing. There are a lot of bad people out there.

    I hear ya Jeff!

I came in from a short hot 2 hour trip around 7 pm yesterday. Hot and sweaty. Backed the truck in, then while heading to the dock to bring the boat over, I was stopped and asked if I wanted a screw driver. What??

He hands me a vodka OJ filled with ice.

Another thing that would be nice is if the DNR would build docks off to the side of the ramp to tie your boat up to whioe you go get your trailer. I feel like a when i have to tie my boat to the end of the ramp dock and run to get my trailer. i fish by myself most of the time. on a lot of the ramps there is not a place to pull up on shore to jump out and tie up to. What do ya do?

Yeah I kind of refuse to put the boat in this time of year.

I have noticed that usually people around here don’t really use the dock. Apparently two people are required. One to drive the boat and one to drive the vehicle.

Different kind of jerks for us this weekend. No other trailers at the ramp at 8AM, but tons of garbage that wasn’t there the night before. Some just thrown loosely around, another nicely tied bag of garbage.

I fish by myself alot as well. Most of the lakes I fish have a area near the ramp where you can beach your boat ( This is where a Keel guard come in handy ) If not I try to tie off the boat on the none landing side of the dock. It can be a real hassle on Busy lakes – last Sat. at prior some pleaseure boater beached his boat sideways at the Area most use to beach there boat – It must of took him 20 minutes to get it moved. If he had beached like he should there was room for 3 or 4 more boats – Once beached lower the motor all the way down to hold the boat strait. prior Lake is one of the worst on busy days. I’d say at least 50 % of people there have no idea of how to load or unload a boat – Kind of funny to watch sometimes. I try to lend a hand but most of these types of boaters think they don’t need help. People can say what they want about Bass fishermen but I can tell you they have boat loading and unloading down well. I’ve watched 4 or 5 bass boat load up in the time that 1 pleasure boater has.

That would make the Ratio of 10 – 1 of catfish fishermen

Wouldn’t see why not, to late to educate the adult child, but you might straighten out the child child..

    It wasn’t vodka.

It was a traditional liquor made in a bathtub by Wisconsin hill people. Goats are involved in the process. That’s all you need to know.

There have been a number of bass tournaments out of Schmitt Harbor this summer and I’ve been surprised to see that a lot of them came separate from their boater companions and parked their trucks and cars in the boat parking. These guys should know better. Tournaments are intrusive enough at busy ramps without being dumb about it. There is plenty of parking across the street and the tournament director should tell those without boats to park there. I’m not at all against their events but they could use some public relations training.

I was at a So. Metro Lake Saturday morning 5:30-12:30, fishing a point near an island and saw the landing cleared, buzzed over and had 4-people inline.
1st a Cadillac with a Jet Ski, at least as slow as the pleasure boats and then he tied up to the dock.

Next a SUV with a big (Momma’s boat/walk thru windshield) boat, a couple air tubes and raft tied on, out gets a guy, a yellow lab, his nice looking FW and 4-teenie boppers, he wasn’t half bad at launching but his crew took up the whole dock while his FW went to park, she was pretty good.

Next a Pleasure craft with another dog and a little tike, they alone took another 5-10 launching, motor didn’t start right up. FW went and parked truck pretty efficiently.
I had beached mine and waited and waited, finally asked the next guy with a 16ft fishing rig if I could pull out before him and free up a space for him to park.

He granted my request (I THANKED him and gave him a tip on where I found the Bass) and I was in and out (backing in and pulling boat out) in less than 4-minutes by myself. Pulled way out of the way and watched a little as I did my AIS check, tying down and draining motor and pulling plug. I was on the road before this guy pulled out to park.
Glad I got out of there when I did as 2-more were waiting in line to launch.

Funny how the guys got in the boats and took their time while their F.W.’s. were so efficient at parking within the lines and getting outta the way.

Best part of day was seeing what most people miss laying in bed, see 2-photo’s: Pre-Sunrise and Sunrise, just awesome and feel so blessed to be on the water and see these sights.

If you were a little more observant, you’d have noticed that all of the pictures on that website are of feet. Nasty, dirty feet.

Don’t know the landing in ? here. Are the spots in the landing marked as trailer parking Only – Or is there spots also marked for Non-trailer parking parking. If they parked in spots marked as trailer parking only then they should have been Towed or ticked – If they parked in spots marked as non trailer parking then they have every right to park in the spots
