Anyone been on the Eau Claire Chain north of Hayward? I am headed up on the 4th! Last year the northern and walleye bit was good. Any reports?

I’m headed that way, too. Not sure if I’ll make it to EC Chain or not.

Somewhat related to your post: I have a co-worker that took his daughter up there fishing last year. He has a picture of a CPR small mouth bass from Upper EC. It is laying on the bottom of the boat next to his boot size 13. I kid you not, that bass is twice as long as his boot. I have always wanted to put that picture up but he never produced a digital picture – he is an old school kinda guy. That fish has to be the biggest SM I have ever seen….

There are some GIANT smallmouths and largemouths both in all three lakes. As far as fishing, lower has some great panfish along with middle. Upper is mainly a bass/walleye/muskie type of lake IMO. Lower has a LOT of walleyes-only problem being the water is insanely clear on all three, so low light conditions are usually the best. Hope this helps!

My Brother is at the Cabin on Bony lake. He has caught 8 walleyes between Middle Eau Claire and Bony. All at prime last half hour of daylight. He said daytime fishing was just a few hammer handles. Mix between bobber and leech and trolling raps.
