The blog writer strikes me as an idiot.
To claim that the boundaries for a bass fishing tournament strip the anglers of their freedoms is asinine at best. Disagreeing with the tourney boundry and/or disagreeing with the reasoning or lack thereof is one thing, but claiming that the anglers are being stripped of their freedoms because a tournament that they CHOSE to enter is telling them WHERE they can fish is a ridiculous stretch at best. We are all now dumber for reading that blog entry.

You may want to check the credentials of that outdoor writer before you judge. Then you should also understand how the BASS elite series circuit is run and the fact that these guys actually fish tournaments for a living (and a fair number of them make a really good living) so skipping an event would directly affect their sponsorship, ability to achieve the angler of the year title and/or qualify for the classic – thus jeopardize their income. Not a smart move by any measure…
I have fished a couple walleye tour events at that venue that launched at that exact launch and never been restricted on where I could fish so why the double standard? Everyone knows the best fish are outside the boundary and over 80% of the field fished within 4 miles of each other is unheard of for these events. There was an opportunity to showcase the fishery and that opportunity is now greatly diminished.
