    Thanks Jeff!

Really, I don’t care if they expand the tournament or limit the range these guys can fish.
My only point is that there actually are some legitimate reasons for why the dnr limited how far they can travel.
Granted, the bass guys don’t think the dnr’s reason are legitimate. So be it.

But since everyone who entered is fishing by the same rules, (hopefully) just go fish and lets see who wins.

As someone that doesn’t bass fish or even play one on the internet (I did eat one once), I find this thread pretty informative.

The whole elite thing doesn’t bother me, that’s what the tourney is called. Even if I fished it, I would be called elite…or something.

When the tourneys are on the river aren’t they confined to a pool or two? It’s not the whole river. Having a limited area sure seems to ensure less harm to the fish.

If that limited area is the only thing that’s rung up 95+ posts, why wouldn’t the 5 fish per team limit rile some scales? Because the DNR didn’t make that rule?

Personally, if the DNR limited the area of MY tourney (since all competing have the same rules) it would be a non issue. But that’s just me binging me.

I throw the word basshole, wallabee and mushy fishermen around all the time. They are some of my best friends….I think.

Gentlemen like it or not we are all in this together.

It would appear that there might be more Mn. Fishers than WI. If we are so stupid ect. and our DNR is any number of bad things, how come the tribes are raping some of your best walleye lakes. It seems you folks are sitting on your butt and watching your walleyes disappear by hundreds of thousands. I might be wrong, did someone here say that BASS will not come to your state.

    Drew

That was me that said BASS would not come back to my state ( Minnesota ) and I also said they will most likely not be returning to your State ( Wisconsin ) after this issue as well. Like I stated these people have Many other states that push hard to get them to come to their states. They will not mess with those who do not seem to want them there. The minnesota Issue had nothing to do with the DNR. Our issue was a Really powerful Lake owners association who believes that a lake is owned by them. I guess when you have a several million dollar home you start to think thoughts like that

Just playing the devils advocate here, but I find that a bit hard to believe.

I know it’s hard to believe – but it’s nothing for these guys to run those great distances and fish for only 2-3 hours in a day…..Prime Example – the Classice on the Louisiana Delta…Guys who ran to Venice were sometimes fishing for only an hour or two before having to run several hours back…..

You’re correct in that the rules are set and everyone has to play by them….but to go back to equality and fairness….I don’t know of any Walleye or Salmon tournaments having gone out of Green Bay have set boundary limitations??? Again – why the discrimination towards the bass angler?

I agree with BK (WHAT THE H*LL???) that so far this post is mostly informative….

    If this were only true…..

Leading today was Aaron Martens with 20lbs even….Pretty good sack – but to quote him after weigh-in:

“If this part of the lake is this good, I’d hate to see what the “promised land” part of the lake is like”

Perhaps the limitations were put in place so the Elite can’t swamp all the other recreational fisherman out on GB. Lord knows they have done it to me on pool 10 Bassholes

I’d love to fish a lake with a tourney going on and have a pro get close to me. I’d give him the line I give everyone. “Its a big lake!”

They should hold all their tourneys in that fish tank at Bass Pro Shops. Its ok, I know a guy.

You know, you might have an idea there Pug.

Tourneys…all tourney’s in a glass fish tank. No Permits needed, no waking other boats and with everyone watching, a very small chance of cheating.

I know, I know the above doesn’t go on, but it would eliminate the perception that it does.

Really? Aren’t Koi expensive? They might all die because the bags I use don’t have the Oxygenater. That’s Oxygenator…Technology on Board. Find it at your local tackle retailer and tell them Pug sent ya.

    I need to eat.

I’ve never heard of a salmon tournament being run out of Green Bay. Salmon fishermen fishing in a tournament can certainly go fish in Green Bay though.
Also, salmon fishing tournaments are 100% kill tournaments. Always have been and always will be. Comparing a 100% kill tournament with a 100% release tournament doesn’t make much sense.

As for walleye tournaments, what time of year was the walleye tournament held? If both the bass tourny and the walleye tourny were held at the same time of the year, then I think you have something. But if one was held in April or May and the other in late June……again, kind of like comparing apples and oranges isn’t it?

By the way, it’s nice to see the leader bring in a big, heavy bag of fish.

Hey B.C., its a big lake!

Actually I don’t have a problem with tourneys because they never seem to want to fish where I fish.

Thats the great thing about koi touraments, they are very hardy fish.

You can throw them on the perfictly manicured lawn until later, and if you forget to throw them back after the weigh-in, the FW will just toss them back in the water the next morning when she finds them.

No bags… no oxegenator… no boundries…. no limits
