You arent alone.. I saw someone do a stuwest first hand this morning on the miss river. Backed the boat in, tried to get it off but the current took him right into the dock and he got stuck. So he decided to pull it out and try again, well he couldnt crank it up because his giant pleasure boat was stuck on the side of his roller bunks so he just hooked the safety chain up and took off. Half way up the ramp *SNAP!* boat comes flying down the ramp sideways and plopped in the water. I couldnt help but wonder if stu made a trip down here this morning

On a side note, probably not a good idea to launch a boat in a 5mph current. A guy yesterday lost his trailer on the same ramp, he backed it in and the current took it under the dock and it was stuck, he had to unhook the trailer and when he did it went downriver quick.

It’s called a stuwest now? Talk about rubbing it in.

i’d take offense, but i’ve got equipment failure to protect my fragile ego.

one of my buddies used to contend that one’s power was directly related to the size of mistake that you could brush off as inconsequential. if that is true, then my power has grown exponentially since i came back to play with boats.

my buddy would have considered BBK’s remarks to be a complement…

We may call it that// The thing is we all have our blunders we could have our names put on.. lord knows I have a few of my own… not going to tell you about it though

hope the guys boat is OK and no one was hurt.. then a he can look back on it in a few years when his ego heals and laugh!!!!

I’m laughing already. the $1000 repair is going to be accomplished for $237… (knock on wood)

and i’ll have a completely new steering system.

    stuff/people fail.

happens. not much you can do about it.

smart people don’t whine, they learn to live with it…

Up at the pond this weekend I watched a guy (not Stu!) with a nice big glass boat try to back the boat off the bunk trailer. He had the motor revved up and in reverse and could not get the boat off the trailer. So with the boat motor still running at idle, he jumped in the truck to back the trailer into a little deeper water. I ran over to offered to help by holding onto the rope. He said he did not need help, but I still grabbed the rope! So now as he backs up and the boat is starting to float off the bunk trailer the boat takes off as it is still in reverse!!! Good thing I held onto the rope or it would have been boat!!!!!

I hope the rest of his day went better.

Probably a good idea if Stuwest wears a Maewest while playing with boats.
