Another reason I do not have FB
You don’t need facebook when you get to see it live and have it forever seared into your memory.
PS: Hey Bret . . . Lookey here
June 19, 2012 at 6:00 pm #1077101I am self appointing myself the official IDO Thread Hijacker.
So how about that damage in Hastings.
June 20, 2012 at 11:22 am #1077295I made it through pretty much unscathed. Doesn’t look like the hail wrecked my siding or roof. No trees down, but they appear to be leaning eastward. No power yet. It has been off since 4:30 Monday morning. Pool is full of shreaded leaves. My son (hookem_9) lost a few trees and some broken off limbs. From about midtown south and west it looks like a war zone. Many large trees lost.

I’m OK. Ritter’s oak landed on his neighbor’s house.
That would be my brothers house…
I lost a large ash tree in my back yard, hit my deck, 3 season porch and landed on two of my vehicles.
one neighbor behind me lost the largest maple tree i’ve ever seen, that took out multiple sections of fence, a couple sheds and hit two houses.
I started cutting wood at 6:00 AM and finished up at 9:30 PM. I still have work to do every day after work this week…
I lost a massive elm tree last year to dutch elm, and now i lose one of two ash trees in my backyard. I’ve pretty much lost all shade on my house now.
This storm sure did change the landscape around town…

Is that a rope or electrical cord?
thats a rope. the half of the tree still standing was leaning pretty bad, so i convinced my neighbor to climb the tree about 30ft up and start cutting , once we had enough off the top, we cut and had 5 guys pulling on it to lay it back down in the yard.
we got it finished up tonight. my house now has a 7 ft privacy fence of tree and debris on the curb line…
i just need to rake up the yard is all.
but, i will say, i got off a lot better than a lot of people did. a lot of people lost parts or all of their homes, cars, etc.
i had minor to medium damage is all.
Ritter…when you getting that oak off my brother’s house?
June 21, 2012 at 12:39 pm #1077662I’m not touching that thing!
Talked to Shelia the home owner last night, they will be over tomorrow to remove it. Yeah, more fun for me….
