Well I have spent the last week and a half down at my family’s cabin on lake tetonka. I found the walleyes on the outside of the weed lines in 10-15fow dragging spinners with half a crawler, a lot of little 10-12inchers but did manage some nice 15-17″ eaters and a few low 20″ range fish that I released. The color that seemed to work the best was good ol gold. I also managed a few jumbos some whitebass one nice 13in crappie and way to many sheephead with this same technique. Caught a few pike trolling spoons but all hammer handles. Caught some dandy largemouth pitching plastics and buzzbaits to pockets in the weeds. Found the channel cats near the channels between tetonka and sakatah and between upper sakatah and lower sakatah using frogs, caught more bowfin(dogfish) then I did cats but did manage a few descent cats biggest was a chunky 31 1/2 x 21 girth. Last but not least to a certain extent, didn’t managed to hook up but I did have a follow from a low 40″ range ski casting a bucktail, yes I mean a muskie they are in there. The DNR was actually out there a couple days going around asking people questions about whether they would support the dnr if they decided to actually stock tetonka with muskies, I said Yes.

Its good to hear that the lake is doing well. My parents lived on the north west shore in the late 90’s early 2000s. Fished it some not a lot. Got sick of the recreational boats and all the weeds. I had heard that the dnr already stocked some muskies in there years ago, good thing hopefully it is thinning out some of the bullheads.

They didn’t stock them in there. It was a hatchery escape and some of them survived. There are VERY few muskie’s in that lake but I have heard almost everyone of them is over 50in now. It’s strange hearing of a 40in.
