What’s your favorite weather app?

I like weather.com’s reports (mostly for the wind which seems to be close) but hate their android app. Takes forever to load. Maybe because it’s the free one and it load ads first. I would pay for some speed but what I really would like is one that updates on it’s own so that when I open it, (semi) fresh info is already there…

    What do you know, IDO?

The weather channel app is great, very eye pleasing, updates instantly and it’s free.

I use My Cast, the paid version is $3.99 and will show any weather watches and warnings for the whole US, will also show lightning strikes. When using the radar if you want to check other areas around you all you have to do is slide the screen to that area.

Accuweather. I pay very careful attention to the weather in the summer. I grow hay, and weather is critical in determining when to cut. Accuweather has 15 day advance forecasts that have been far more accurate than other sites, and I don’t think other sites give you 15 days. Also accuweather gives longer range hourly forecast. They have a very nice iPhone app as well.

Weather bug elite for me. Gives you a lot of live radar choices , temp and rain chances by the hour , lightning strikes , pressure on radar just to name a few

I use My-Cast lite for trends. It shows you wind, barometer and other trends as a line graph.

Accuweather mostly for the 15 days forecast.

And lastly Radar Now for a quick look at the radar, but I pull up the other ones after for more detailed radar if I see something heading my way or I want to know if there is an end in sight.

I like My Cast. It has serveral versions. The graphss are good and I paid for the Lightning strike plug in. It shows lighting strikes in real time and its nice to know if the dark cloud you see coming has lighning or not when out on the water.

I am a little confused with all their apps. So you have the classic version plus the lightning plug in that costs $9.99? Or do you have the platinum version that is all inclusive for $3.99 or whatever it is?

So the only thing it tells you is what the weather is right now . . .

    Couldn’t you just look up?

It does get confusing with all their versions. I have 3 versions on my phone but the one I use most often is the fishing version.

Sure, but Radar now is fast, especially if you want a quick look at the radar.

Knowing what is not directly overhead but near is important too.

I’m actually using one from one of our local TV stations, and it’s called Skywatch5. Instant radar, all you have to do is slide the screen. Seems to have good updates into the future.

I almost bought Weatherbug Elite….maybe I’ll have to reconsider. Seems like quite a few pleased customers here.

NOAA. That is where everyone else gets their data from anyway only slightly delayed.
