Neighbor called Everts Resort this morning to report a black bear in his back yard.

I’m guessing with the rising water all the animals…and snakes are seeking higher ground.

Lower ramp is still doing good with plenty of parking.

    Just don’t feed the bears!

Well I’ve heard of suspected BARE sightings around there
but it seems they’ve always turned out to actually be Speedo sightings

Only a couple weeks ago I saw some bear pics from a trail cam just north of Pepin, WI. They were taken early this summer already. Northern Iowa had one about a week or so ago too. Probably more of these critters down this way than people think.

Are you certain the water is not going to make it into the trailer or did you just decide to roll the dice on this flood? Does not look like a lot of wiggle room on the water level. Great photos.

Rookie and I are living dangerously.

We both have campers about 30 inches above the ground…the wiggle room is the distance of the river to the camper. The prediction is the water to rise about 1.5 feet.

What I didn’t take into account is the big boat wakes.

So do you have drive thru for boats yet? I would take a sandwich and a beer.
Good luck on the water/house boat.

    Drive UP bait and pizza!

Remember to tip the boat hops well, they are grossly under paid.

Probably quite a few more Tom. I worked for a couple last year and he has family that are very avid trout fishermen. They seen a female last year in northen Iowa and told the DNR about it and they said theres no bears in Iowa. Shortly after that they got a picture of it and showed it to the same DNR officer and he said for them to try to keep it quite, maybe the same bear, maybe not. I’ve heard of a couple cubs being sited last year too. Theres plenty of places for bears to winter over there and plenty of food so why not.
