going to gander mtn this weekend, also my daughters first ever trip (she just turned 1) so i figd this would be a fun idea for a post…

lookin to buy a walleye rod was looking for some suggestions on what to get, if you wanna suggest a couple for dif techniques im open to that

im also lookin at maybe getting a bunch of new tackle so chime in on what you think shoul dbe at the top of my list

Here’s a short list for setting up for eyes,

Rapalas – couple shad raps, black/silver, black/gold, firetiger

Live Bait Rigs – Lindy rigs for both crawlers and leech/minnows. Throw in some slow death hooks and a couple bottom bouncers.

Jigs – 1/16 and 1/8 oz

Plastics – ringworms, pulse-R’s, twister tails

slip bobbers, split shots, some plain hooks.

A very basic list but the above would be a good start.

Have fun, enjoy the trip. I can spend hours in any Gander, FF, Cabelas, etc.

Skip Gander and go to some place like 4 Seasons, Everts or talk to Dean at Deans tackle box. These guys keep on hand what the local walleyes guys are using. I spend more times walking out of Gander shaking my head and having bought nothing.

For what gear and tackle to buy its hard to say. Where do you want to fish?
