Anyone ever download and use it? Is it cracked up to be as good as advertised? I’m looking at the free download of course.

I use it several times a day at my work computer, I’ve never been busted for being here & not working, so I assume it works.

I used it on my home PC until it froze up. I took it in for repair and they told me the CC clean caused the problem and removed it and my PC has been working fine. This was about three years ago.

Automatically Clean XP, Vista and Windows 7
Is your Windows computer running slow?
You’re not alone! Over time, Windows can slow down dramatically due to an overloaded file system and registry, temporary and aging file residue, incomplete uninstalls, and more. Regular PC maintenance should always include safely cleaning out bloat from the Windows file system, ensuring your computer runs at top speed.

What should be cleaned in Windows?
The various Windows ‘temp’ file folders, programs that auto-load at start-up, excess Windows registry keys, and uninstall entries are good places to start. Additionally, internet cache and temporary files, unused program references, shortcuts, and Windows shell extensions can be cleaned to prevent conflicts and file system corruption.

What’s the easiest way to clean Windows automatically?
While you could navigate through the Windows file system and registry manually, we strongly recommend a safe, automatic solution for cleaning Windows effectively. PC Cleaner is our top choice for safely cleaning and optimizing XP, Vista and Windows 7. PC Cleaner is a must-have software tool, an essential part of any Windows XP cleaning and performance maintenance routine. It also includes an excellent Start-up Manager that will let you eliminate annoying software that launches every time you start your PC.

PC Cleaner will also take care of the following PC maintenance items:
    •Fixes Windows Registry Corruption
    •Speeds Up Start-Up & Boot Times
    •Solves Virtual Memory Problems
    •Repairs Damaged File Systems
    •Cleans Dead-End Program References
    •Fixes ActiveX Errors
    •Repairs Shared DLL Errors
    •Removes Duplicate Registry Entries
    •Deletes empty registry Keys
    •Repairs invalid Class Keys
    •Fixes Freezing & Blue Screens
    •Checks Faulty Shell Extensions
    •Repairs Invalid CLSID/Typelib/Interface Entries
    •Corrects Invalid File Paths
    •Checks Application Path Keys/Orphan References
•Speeds Up Slow or Continuous Shut-Down
    •Checks & Cleans Invalid File Types/Extensions/Entries

My C drive is almost full and the PC has been pitching a fit. In the good old days we all had photo albums, now I download all my pictures onto the computer. I’m in the process of purchasing a portable hard drive so I can dump my C drive onto it and clean my C drive off. The new portable hard drive will save me from burning to a 100 or more cd’s

Once that is done I’d like another program that will clean up my registry and anything else that I might be missing. I have been doing some reading and CC-Clean has been mentioned a lot. So…thought I’d finish my homework here on IDO.

If the above doesn’t work I will be dumping everything and starting from scratch. Just trying to avoid this.

I like Simple Green – – oh for your computer – never mind.
