Friend who prefers to be anonymous, had good luck over the weekend on Slow Death Rigs on 3Ways. He was using ‘rubber’ worms but didn’t know the brand. Any comments on what imitates a natural worm most closely when properly impaled on a slow death hook?? Size of hook matter?? I”m carrying #2s and #4s.

I’ve heard some folks have good success using the trigger-x worms…when rigging. I’ve tried pitching jigs with them though and not had much luck.

    I think G.Parsons did a show on
    “The Next Bite” using fry.
May be the show is available on-line?

After running out of bait I’ve resorted to Gulp Alive worms pinched in half or even gulp minnows threaded on and have had success a number of times. I pretty much just use #2’s.
It’s the corkscrew action they like and although every day’s different – it has worked well on some days anyway.

Have had great success with the 3″ Fry in both the natural and the chartreuse

I use the 3″ pumpkinseed fry a lot on Devils Lake. They hold up great when you are dealing with all the pesky 8-12″ fish. I use alot of 5″ gulp leeches on slow death hooks, works great.

Berkley makes a pinched crawler new this year just for that. They come in several colors.
