incorrect flooring estimate – what to do?

    Actually, It’s been a year and two months. In the end, we ended up with a compromise. At first, he said he was not willing to eat any of the cost because it was an honest mistake. My only answer to that was “I thought we had an honest contract for a price since it is in writing. I will see you in court.” After that registered he was willing to eat the cost of materials and I paid him for labor. He ate 75% of the overage from the original contract. Paying 25% of the cost seemed better to me than having to deal with him in court and wasting my time. The work they did was excellent. Had they done anything poorly, I wouldn’t have been as willing to pay for part of the overage.
