This job posting will go out on Craigslist and several other job posting websites next Monday but I thought it would be best to put it out to members here on IDO first. We’re growing like mad and we need to add a camera operator / editor. If you like working outdoors and you have some experience with video equipment… or just think you have the passion and work ethic to keep up with the IDO Team… this might be the perfect job for you!

    ————————————————————–

In-Depth Outdoors is looking for a highly-motivated entry level video camera operator and editor to join our production team. In-Depth Outdoors is a fast growing media company specializing in documenting anglers and hunters pursuing fish and game across the Midwest and Canada.

Ideal applicants for this position would possess the following skills and meet the following criteria:

    • Applicant must live within 20 miles of MPLS / St. Paul.
    • Applicants should possess some experience using professional video equipment including camcorders, audio recording equipment, monitors, sliders and jibs.
    • Applicants should possess an understanding of shot composition, shot selection, how to best use available light and set camera exposure to capture high quality footage.
    • Applicants must be capable of following directions with attention to fine detail.
    • Applicants should possess some experience with one or more of the following editing platforms; Final Cut Pro, Motion or After Effects.
    • Applicants must have a flexible schedule and be willing to adjust days and times worked to meet production schedules.
    • Applicants must be physically fit and be comfortable working outdoors. Applicants will be expected to perform duties under all weather conditions.
    • Applicants with some level of personal experience as a hunter or angler preferred.
    • Applicants must be adept at functioning productively as a member of a production team and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Applicants must be adept at performing duties while adhering to strict delivery deadlines.
    • Applicants must be willing to travel, must possess a valid passport (or be eligible to obtain one) and be eligible to enter Canada.

In-Depth Outdoors is willing to train the right candidate to perform expected duties. This position is initially offered as a salaried, part-time position with compensation based on applicant’s experience and hours worked weekly.

This position is intended to grow into a full-time, salaried position as the applicant’s skill set matures to the point where it matches the stated job description.

In-Depth Outdoors is accepting application through May 31, 2012. All cover letters and resumes are to be submitted to In-Depth Outdoors in PDF format (no exceptions) by email. Send resume and cover letter to [email protected]

The #1 requirement here is WORK ETHIC and a commitment to quality. Anything else can be taught. IF anyone knows someone that they think would be a good fit, please send them a link to this posting.

Sounds like a great opportunity. To bad I don’t have camera/photo skills or time that the job requires.

If it was only on weekends, I would do it for free. Wish I could have found a job like that 25 years ago. What a great opportunity for a young person with drive.

Good for you James it has been many trials and tribulations, and a lot of hard work, and long long hours. I am so happy to see your business growing and gaining ground. It is a tough business you are in.

I have an extreme Passion for the outdoors, especially fishing. I’m 18 years old, and ever since I was young I’ve wanted to be involved in the fishing world. I want to run my own guide service, tv show, or even a local baitshop. I’ve seen almost every episode of IDO and some of them have became the people I respect when it comes to fishing advice. The only qualification I’m missing from this application is I have no video/editing work what so ever. Other than that I feel like this would be a pretty great job
