    I aborted fishing and went with shooting/quading. This weekend opener will be hardcore and not weather dependant.

    I went to Wisc for bass fishing, the weather was decent on saturday–not many bass guys out. there are a lot of things I am not a big fan of with the state but this one aspect that they are way ahead of us on.

    We went to Holcombe, WI. We got a few walleyes. Highlight was catching three sturgeon. Two over 30 inches and one small one.

    Fished some Burnett Country skinny river water to get away from the prople on saturday and boated 30 walleyes. Chartruse flicker shads snapping them along the bottom was what produced. Biggest were a few at 22″ but still fun for a solo trip on new water.

    Go figure – my brother dan k go out on saturday and weather is crappy and fishing poor. sunday weather supposed to be 80% chance of rain and doesnt spit at all – but too late, we made other plans for the day.

    so i did what anyone would when monday is sunny and nice out:

    i call in sick and went to north long near balsam. got about 12 bass pumping traps and throwing senkos.

    (that sigh you just heard was the satisfaction of getting the first bass under my wings for 2012, more to come!)
