Has anyone heard reports of real life milage on the new Malibu Ecos? How do they compare the new Camry Hybrid in milage? I like the Malibu’s look and style but not at the cost of too much MPG. It appears that reports of 2012 Camry Hybrids are getting 40 real life regularily. Any help?

Bought a 2010 Camry Hybrid, couple of months ago, 33000 miles, $17000…wife’s car. Around town getting 36-39 and when riding with her…she isn’t paying any attenion to good eco driving. which is nice, If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. On the way to cities from Rochester gets around 40 or better at 68 to 70 mph…am happy with it. Have heard the 2012’s are even better. Don’t know about the Malibu.

I can’t for the life of me wonder why anyone would want a Malibu over a Camry????? I see no advantage whatsoever, in any aspect, in any way???????

A guy I work with just leased a chev volt yesterday and says that he is getting over 100 mpg with it. With the lease he figures he’ll save almost his entire lease payment in gas alone which is about $350/ mo.

This has really got me thinking…

The Camry is a true hybrid. The Malibu is electronic assist and not a true hybrid.

I did know the Malibu is not a true hybrid. Just curious to the “real Life” milage of the New Eassist Malibu’s.

If the milage is close to the camry’s then I can think of a reason to choose the Malibu. But I do understand that the Camry is rock solid.
