Opener is finally here. All fishing in Saskatchewan shuts down March 31 and then opens in Southern zone May 5th,Central zone is May 15, and Northern is May 25.I live on the border of the southern and central zone. Can’t wait to wet a line tomorrow

Interesting you can fish in Saskatchewan before you can in MN lakes. Your Northern most season opens even before Bass season does here. But then I think fishing opens in every other State in the US before ours does.

I’m sure the fishing pressure is on third of what we have here as well.

That all depends on time of year and where you are fishing. Here on Tobin Lake on the river portion in July and Aug. it is fairly steady and weekends are packed, but out on the big lake you can get away from the crowds.Same goes for Last Mountain Lake in the southern part of the province. You come up here late in the fall on the river and it is here piggy, piggy. You can have 40 fish days(walleye) with 5 to 10 in the 28″ to 33″ range, and lots in the 21″ to 25″
