I think if you are an adult mentor, with a group of teenage kids, you need to keep your head on straight.

I think the guy was out of line.

I tried archery at one time, I don’t think I could hit the broad side of a glass house.

Good lord. These were highschool aged kids that have seen way more traumatizing things at a much younger age.

Somebody needs to call out the Home-Ec Teacher that showed that 1981 birth video when they were in 8th grade.

how was the guy out of line? he hit what he was aiming for and made a clean kill. Besides, they were in high school. they should have been through hunters ed anyway. if i blame anybody, it would have to fall on the parents for coddling them to much in the first place. if he turned one kid onto hunting i say hes a hero.

I wish he would’ve just let it go and got a replica made by Matt at Artistic Angler.

I think the teacher was way out of line. He needs to show the pupils how to properly field dress and prepare it for table fare. Even submit a wine list for the varmit, Prarie Fume’ anyone??

If he wasn’t out of line , why don’t you contact him and ask him if he would do it again.

Ask any hunters education teacher if they would feel it was ok, to go from shooting stationary targets, to shooting a live target that happens to pass within range during live arms training.

The guy was out of line… I guarntee you he will not do it again.

This guy was not out of line; the school system is out of line.

Most of these kids see much more offensive stuff on the video games that their own parents allow them to play at home

when I was in high school, the teachers and us would go hunting together after school (and on Saturday mornings during deer/duck season)
    gophers in the spring
    deer/ducks in the fall
    coyotes in the winter

We have a ring of supposedly respected teachers in a pair of communities over that are up for sales and use of Marijuana. Up to 26 counts for one of them!!!

While he surely shouldn’t have done this (kill a gopher), I just can’t get over punishing him in this manner. I hope it doesn’t get to the point that they carry this out to its full potential and he loses his job over it.

Thers is a big difference between hunting on weekends, and shooting a gopher in front of a classroom.

The guy was out of line.

I sure hope nothing comes out of this that would harm his career.
