    Wisc side of lake Superior.

Or stay home for opening, like I usually do.

I’ll be on Winnie and I’m Stoked! Fishing out of High Banks, but I will be all over the lake. Hoping to get into some Crappie action on Friday.

been going to Mille lacs for too many years to change. Although I am normally a catch and release fisherman the opening weekend I am looking for some walleyes to keep and eat. 4-17″ fish if I wasn’t so lazy would motivate me to find new waters for opener. Post about Red has got my attention. Good luck to everyone wherever you decide to go!!

Been going to Winnie since I was old enough to remember. When I was 12yrs old my dad got me a boat and I would land it with our 4 wheeler and a buddy. He gave me some minnows and a handheld vhf in case I broke down! Never have I not brought in my opening day limit

I would say LOTW. Maybe consider Rainy if Granrud has the bit going! Thats a tough question.

After years of small water openers on the Iron Range, last year I convinced my dad to come with me to Rainy. It took a LOT of convincing, but after the action we had last year…I honestly don’t think he would even consider any other destination.

I’ll be in the Bemidji area on Plantagenet where it all started for me back in the day. Mom & Dad still live right there and if that doesn’t work out to our satisfaction there are a host of Walleye factory lakes with an hour or so.

It would be nice to go to the cabin on Milly. Seems like I have been working the opener for too many years in a row.

Family owns sand Lake point at the mouth of bowstring river and that’s where we always go.

We also have a partnership with others on a cabin on North Fowl lake in the arrowhead on the boarder, that is where I want to go for opener. I’m low man on the totem pole so my vote don’t count. It comes around ounce in a while and I treasure so much. BWCA just 35 ft from the cabin wall.

Great question – anywhere? Probably where I cut my walleye teeth reminiscing about Gramps, LOTW’s… But I’ve really enjoyed trying to unlock the ‘eyes jaw on Ottertail. Trev at Vacationland provides a nice clean, affordable cabin with a dock right out front. Fun to have fresh walleye with a couple eggs and toast for breakfast, fish a few more hours then walleye with a good steak or shrimp scampi… Nothing like convenience to enhance the experience.

But me? Granddaughters first ballet recital Sunday so we’ll hopefully hit P4 Saturday. Been too long since I wet a line.

Good luck to all and safety first! Revenue generators will be everywhere so don’t take the chance!
