Just a heads up. I am workin on the construction of the hastings bridge. We have been erecting Iron in a laydown yard up by the dam for the structural part of the bridge. When finished it will be about 2 football fields long and will have the arch fully erected on it. It will then take 3 days to move it from the yard onto barges. The goal is to start this procedure after labor day. I would expect the boat launch and this stretch of the river to be closed during this procedure of erecting the steel across the middle part of the river in its entirety! I will let you know more as I know more!

Thanks for the update and keep them coming. It would be really cool to see that section floated out and hoisted up.

The company im working for is putting it together. a mega mover company out of michigan is doing the move and erecting it. it will not be hoisted with cranes but with some sort of cable hoist system and it will be very interesting to see this accomplished. thanks for the feed back and i will keep you all updated!

It would be worth taking a day off work to see it get moved in place.
