I need to find a way of hooking up to the boat with out getting out of the truck 2-5 times. what do you use when by yourself. Just a lucky placement or back till it hits. thinking of back up camera but also looking at the flip-n-hitch. Ideas?

Backup camera on my F-150 does the trick for me.

I just bought the magnetic telescopic rods with tennis balls on them. Only used a couple times, but perfect each time. And only about $20.

Francis (fish any time) installed this back-up camera on our truck. I am pretty sure it was on sale when we bought it. He did have some trouble getting installed the way he wanted it but once installed it has been great.

LOL…but that’s what I do. Of course, I have an 11-year old truck.

back up cameras are nice and few buddies have them. I just take a mental note of where the center of boat and truck are and then distance to the bow from back of truck. I am always within 1.5″ side to side and 3-4″ short. I always stop and see cause I dont wanna hit the bumper! Make sure the trailer is at the right height and back up last couple inches.

I did a write up on here a couple years ago when I installed mine. They work better when the camera is pointed down like in the tailgat handle on the trucks. At the time I did mine I had to get my handle from ford but I see there are aftermarket ones now that are a lot less. My wife really likes it, a lot less stress when backing up now.

prior to this spring I would lower the tounge of the trailer so that it would strike the ball, I could fairly confidently back up to the trailer and get it lined up so that I’d hit the tounge with the ball. My boat is light enough though that that was close enough to be able to raise it back up and then muscle it onto the ball. This spring I put on a back up camera and it works slick also. I just saw the same one I put on at Menards on sale for 60 or 70 bucks yesterday.
Took maybe an hour to install and that was with soldering it to the reverse line.

My Tacoma has a camera in the tailgate handle.
    Works great.
Helps if the trailer tongue is just above the ball height.

The Aqua Vu Mini works well if the sun isn’t out.
