It’s about that time to respool my reels with new line for the upcoming Walleye season. In the past I have always used XL for jigging and casting with a jig and minnow.I noticed that Berkley also offers Sensation in monofilament to.My question is, Has anybody used this line and how does it compare to XL.Any opinions or first hand experience would greatly be appreciated!

I have used both. I would take sensation over XL. It has less stretch and more sensitivity.

If I’m not fishing braid, I’m using sensation or suffix.

The Sensation, which is available in a hi vis preferred by many for this purpose, is a better line for casting jigs in my opinion. It has less stretch and is more abrasion resistant than XL.

For visisblity I like the sensation but I have issues with it breaking pretty easy and what I think is below the stated weight. I use xl on all of my panfish rods that get spooled non-fluoro mono in the clear. I should mention that I don’t use lines over the 4 pound mark for my panfishing so maybe its just a very light-line weight issue.
