Vikes take Kalil!

  • #1277010

So the Vikes get their stud LT Matt Kalil and still managed to pick up a 4th, 5th and 7th round pick from the Browns!

So far I’m very happy with the outcome of this draft. Now I hope we take some of those late round picks and package them up to move back into rounds 2-3 for some more quality talent.

Solid, safe pick. Should solidify left side for 10 years which I can’t argue with. Now, get a corner or two and another weapon for Ponder to throw to. Go Vikes!

I’m confused. It actually seems like they know what they are doing. Solid pick on the safety

Safety was a huge need for the Vikes and worth the trade up to secure the pick, as there was a big drop off in talent after Harrison Smith.

Lots of good talent still available, and there should be a few opportunities to take a few of those extra picks and trade back into round 2 tomorrow to fill other areas of need like WR or CB.

I would have to agree, two positions that they need help with. Now get a wide receiver , and hope AP gets healthy.

I still say the most important player on the Vikes is their PUNTER.

Whatever. Tough to punt when the ball is sailing over your head. Most important is the long snapper.

What do Sid Hartman and Paul Allen have to do with this thread?

How can you argue with that?

Totally agree. I was waiting for them to make some over-complicated trade that would increase the chances of epic failure by 3000% for little or no gain.

But instead they go and make perfectly rational picks. It was kind of a downer.

Where’s the Sheriff Denny Green? We need him back to liven up draft day with a couple of his famous rescue/rehab picks. Not to mention his brilliant post-game press conference one liners.

Good thing they got all those picks. You never know when they won’t reach the podium on time and forfeit one.

Has this changed? I was not aware that a team forfeited a pick, I thought it was that the teams behind you can pick as soon as your time runs out, so what is lost is places not the entire pick.

I remember that happened back about 10 years ago when the Vikes got Kevin Williams, but instead of getting him on their pick they ran out of time and missed like two spots because the teams behind them quickly grabbed players as soon as the clock ran out, but they ended up still getting Williams.

    Did this rule change?

No, you are probably right. I thought they lost a pick. My bad.

I thought they lost a pick the year terrel suggs got drafted by baltimore? I thought the vikes had the pick right before them. Could be wrong, i have been before. I gotta say though, this looks like a real good draft so far
