Weird “minnows” mixed in with fatheads

    Anyone else noticing weird minnows when ordering crappie minnows? Ran into a guy the other day with one in his bucket that he thought may have been a snakehead. Can’t really say for sure if it was, I’m thinking maybe just a muskie fry?

    Maybe if we put a AIS sticker on our minnow Buckets it would help eliminate these invasive species

    We get a lot of stickleback minnows in ours down here. The walleye actually like them, they are always the first ones I grab out of the bucket. And of course the little cats during the summer, those are also on my first grab list for walleye.

    There could be different variations of what family of minnows we’re seeing in our different areas too.

    Maybe dogfish (bowfin)? They look a lot like snakeheads.

    Im used to siene alot of my own minnows and most of the time I had a few that looked exactly like picture 1. At the time I thought that they sure look like walleye fry, with the pictures above I’m positive now, thanks for the pictures.

    I got a longnose darter in a bucket of minnows the other day.. really cool looking fish.

    You can get about anything with minnows.
