It was no big deal. A very nice and polite young lady. She looked over my boat and explained the whole deal while I stowed my gear. She said they were most concerned, After the inspection of coarse was, delaying the angler. I didn’t have to inspect my boat myself, so she sure did’t slow me down. Also, by this Thursday, she said they would have boxes full of those stickers to hand out after a short seminar that she conducted while she was looking at the boat. The DNR will be providing two hot water pressure washers for this area that will be at a different landing each day to clean your live well, hull and lower unit. My advise is, don’t get so worked up about this. It was no big deal. Also she put up with a little ribbing when I repeated some of the ridiculous rants I’ve read on this subject. I told her she was part of the Evil Empire. She just laughed and told me to have a nice day.

You guys are funny. Really, the post was to let you know how easy and fast the inspection was, and not about the money. Could even get the boat washed a few times, and, yes, she was pretty.

After you’ve been on the water 16 hrs or so, ‘Pretty’ can mean quite a number of things…

800,000 boats, 14,000 lakes, perhaps 30,000(?) public and private landings. But not to worry, 40 or 50 spray stations will take care of the problem

Don’t be cynical, Don. A magic sticker is gonna trump any number of wash stations……

How many people actually fish for 16 hours straight?

One thing I have not seen addressed…..

Lets use Mille Lacs and Zebra mussels as an example:

My boat trailer is made of hollow tubing with a wire harness threaded through it……lots of protected, inaccessible surface area to trap tiny zeebs, or any tiny particle of an AIS….. When both launching and loading, the trailer fills with POTENTIALLY INFECTED water and drains….very possibly trapping some little tiny zeebs inside……

The next day, I go to another lake…. the trailer gets filled with water when landing and leaving……drains out back into the lake….. I would find it likely that there is a high probability that something unwanted could flush out of that trailer into another lake…..

Damn, I am sure glad I got a sticker to prevent that!!!!

I don’t care how pretty the gal is, the inside of a trailer is a transporting machine, and there is no lecture, sticker, or powerwash station that is going to eliminate(or even reduce) that risk.

I think the DNR is on to something. This whole thing would go a lot smoother with young ladies in bikinies looking over my boat and educatng me. I could spare a few minutes for that.

I didn’t enjoy my first inslection nearly as much as you did. I had some bald CO shoving info down my throat like a pushy used car salesman despite the fact that i was reciting the invasive species rules faster than he could “educate” me.

Don’t know about 16 but a lot of us put in 10-12 hour days on the water.
