PFD life

    I have a couple of Sterns zip front life jackets that I’m curious about. What is the safety life of the foam? They are about 15 to 20 to years old. Never been wet…luckily! Always stored in a heated garage in the off season. Should I just get new ones and move on?

    if theya re comfortable, i’d use them. but with the advances on comfort of a PFD, if you knew you had them on, I’d be shopping…

    For $20 is your life worth more? I would go buy new ones.

    I don’t think neoprene ages unless it’s left in the sun (need a professional opinion here…)

    so, my concern is comfort so that the persona actually WEARS it, instead of draping it over a seat back…
