New Orleans Saints Bounty Program

    I don’t understand why the Saints organization, the head coach, and all the players involved in the scandal are all being punished or suspended and the knothead that ran the bounty program skips town to be Defensive Coordinator with St. Louis. Sure, he’s barred from returning to the Saints (big deal – coordinators constantly move around the league), but why wouldn’t he be given a suspension by the NFL like everyone else involved?

    Not a labor relations expert, but I’d think the NFL would have the power and desire to penalize him as well…. back to making spinners.

    He is currently banned from the NFL. For how long is yet to be determined.

    Yah, those “life time bans” only work if your name is Rose and you were in MLB.

    I must be losing it. I swear I read an SI article this afternoon talking about the fallout and Williams going to St. Louis. I’ve been trying to find that thread for 15 minutes and can’t find it…. likely my bad.

    Because the NFL warned every team and player in the league in 2008,, the the Saints specifically in 2009 & 2010. The Saints ignored the warnings and kept doing it! The head coach admitted that he KNEW it was going on and the players participated in the bounty program as well. ALL of their hands are dirty in this and they deserve everything they get IMO.

    That’s why…..

    And yes, Williams is OUT of the NFL indefinitely. That means he’s out until or IF they decide to let him back in.

    Williams has been suspended indefinitely. They will reevaluate at the end of this year. Goodell has said that his future depends upon his cooperation with the league into information on the players involved in this bounty program. So, if he snitches, he will be reinstated, maybe. Not sure anyone would hire him, however.
    If he doesn’t snitch- enjoy your next career because your NFL one is over.
