Need some recommendations. I like to rig from my drivers seat and typically use a 3/4 oz or 1 oz center sliding lindy sinker to keep myself on bottom and out of my fishing buddies way and snag free. I have been looking to upgrade to a g loomis walleye rod and am trying to decide between a 7’1 fast medium light rod or a 7’6 x-fast light rod. Would one be better than the other for how I plan on fishing?

My opinion would be the X-Fast Light would be too Lite for those weights.
I would stay with the fast-Medium. I have a couple GLX in that catagory and really like them.
Wish I had a few less G Loomis’s because I’m trying to find away to talk myself into the NRX series. The Devil on my one should says “go ahead go for it” , but the little angel on the other says ‘you don’t touch that pretty little thing, you leave it alone”

Would you use the NRX for rigging if price was not an issue? It says jig and worm application but why couldn’t you rig with it as well? Would the 6’8 or 7’1 be better? Both are medium power w/ x-fast action.

I love my wrr9000glx, but if you’re using those weights, I would go with the wrr8501glx. I actually used one for jigging on the rainy last week and it worked well for that too. Super light rod and a great feel for those heavier weights you mentioned. If you use longer leaders, then I still would recommend the 9000.

Have you taken a look at the Limit Creek rods at all? They are unbelievable rods at a great value. It’s all I use anymore for rigging and jigging and anything in between.
