Bowfishing spots?

    I just decided to take up bowfishing, I need some spots to go around the Winona/LaCrosse area, anybody want to help me out? I’m not asking for your secret spot, maybe just a general body of water/backwater. Feel free to PM me.

    OK, how about this, anybody know any spots where you’ve seen some big old carp or buffalo creeping around in the shallows?

    Personally I’ve never had much problems finding carp, (never fished for them, never purposely looked for them either) not on the river for sure, shallow bays, heck I bet 90% of the time you can hear them flopping and splashing around, I’ve tended to find them is shallower sandy areas. That’s all I know…

    I know this isn’t Lax or Winona, but if you wnt to venture over to Petenwell, the fingers area and the bays nearby are just full of jumbos right now. There is a boat landing there and if you go south and check the shoreline for the next 2 miles the Carp are everywhere and let you get right on top of them with a trolling motor.
