I thought we had a superstar at shortstop, last year? Wasn’t he the next Asian superstar?

Where is that guy now? Did the Twins trade him?

Twins really need some hitting help !!!!! WOW!!!!!!

Who cares!? My Detroit Tigers are going to be insane this year!

But to be honest, it is very unfortunate the turn the MN Twins have taken… it may be a while until they are back at it.

Last one off the sinking ship loses.

Three games into the season and you are bailing already? They won’t win the division but they will play some entertaining baseball. All the everyday guys are healthy. The pitching still sucks, but hey it’s opening day!!

With Morneau the full time DH Mauer will get some starts at first this year. It’s a good move for both him and the Twins.

Be sure to notify the Yankee and Red Sox fans that their seasons are also over after their 0-3 starts.

Just curious why you feel this way?

It will help his health for an entire season compared to pounding him behind the plate and his bad knees all year.

Nobody can catch 162 games in a season. To keep from getting nicked with foul balls, collisions at the plate and general wear and tear, playing first will be like a day off for him. It also keeps his bat in the line up. It also give Doumit a chance to catch and another outfielder a chance to play. The more both M&M are starting the better the team they will have.

That B-52 fly over was pretty cool, but I preferred the jet fighters from last year.

Looks like we will need a couple more DH spots for all our injury prone players. I didn’t know 1st base was such a high impact position were JM couldn’t not play it. What’s next no sliding?

I’d like to place my vote for small market teams like the Minnesota Twins to be able to swing aluminum!! Though our home team is built with “Texas league power” while conversely our stadium is built for steroid driven home runs; I’d like to return to the glory days of matching homerun totals in the bottom of my pepsi can. Seems more fun watching the long ball than hoping we can keep beating out an infield tick. Besides as it sits the “Bud Deck” seems a great distance from the Twins offense.

5-1 top bottom of the eighth. Only took us ten minutes to fall behind and stay there.

Aluminum bats are a start but I think we should also be able to juice so our team has a chance to a player with 20 home runs.

Jamie Carrol reminds me of a 38 yr old Nick Punto. Good defense, no bat. I won’t give up. I’ll still pull for them know matter how painfull it gets.

If Morneau is only going to DH…..How about giving half of those millions back so they can get a pitcher?

There was zero reason before the season to think the twins would be relevant, and there is even less reason now. This is a bad ballclub. And let’s not pretend this team is even in the same realm as the yanks n sox.

You are right, the Twins aren’t in the same realm as the Yankees and Red Sox. Both have pay-rolls over $50 million higher then the Twins. The Red Sox bullpen is just as effective as the Twins. The Yankee infield at short stop and third base are the same age as our shortstop. Oh, and going into today they both had the same amount of wins, which was the point.

It’s funny how the same people to write the Twins off after 3 loses are the same ones who will tell you the Vikings can compete in the NFL.

Where does this info come from lol? The vikings won’t be relevant this year either…….

And again…..let’s be real. No one cares that the yanks n sox started 0-3. We all know they will both be relevant this season.

Yep, no beer at home games for the twins or brewers this year…they both lost the opener.

    Willingham hit 29 last year.

Check his strikeouts though, he’s Jack Cust waiting to happen……………..

Why is it a given that the Yanks and Sox will both be relevent all season? The last time I checked it was Minnesota putting two former league MVP’s 3-4 in there line up.

One of my favorite players from the past was Rob Deer. He did 2 things, struck out and hit home runs. He was awesome, especially when playing Strat-o-Matic Baseball.

OK, so whats your point? If it’s only that the Yankees and Red Sox will have better records, so what? Are you such a front runner that you can’t enjoy the local teams unless they are winning the World Series? I know they might not win every day but…………..there still is 158 games left this season.

Joe Mauer is the best catcher ever to play a game in Minnesota. Justin Morneau at one time was on his way to being a top 15 player ever to play for the Twins. Going back to 1961 there has generally been at least one very good player on the Twins roster through the years. Carew, Killebrew, Kaat, Puckett, Hrbek, Allison, Chance, Santana and the list goes on. Then of course there are the opposing players. Baseball has given the fans of this area much more through the years then just 2 World Series titles. If you watch baseball purely for wins and losses you better find a different sport.

You need to find the year he hit around .310 with 14 ish homeruns. He might have been with Boston then. On his strato card it was all homeruns in the sweet spots.

Gads, that was a long time ago now that I think about it.

Not being a gamer I can truthfully say I had more fun playing strato-matic growing up then any game ever. Hours and hours and hours of playing.

    Is the game still around?
