    15 year old Browning 2″.

Longest I’ve owned a pocket knife without loosing it.

There’s been one in my pocket since fire was invented or at least since I was 10 years old.

I hate to agree with BK about anything but I too carry one all the time. I have my whole life. I never get more than a few years out of one before I lose it but that makes it easy on the kids for buying presents. My only requirement is that it be small and not gaudy.

I’ve got a couple CRKTs that rarely leave my side–a slimmer one that I carry on a daily basis and a heftier one when I am less concerned with the bulkiness. I feel naked without!

I will say that last winter, I lost my favorite knife. I looked everywhere…it drove me nuts. Then, I was at my mother-in-law’s in the spring, and I found it in her yard right where the big snow pile from the plow was. I must have dropped it in her driveway and it got plowed. I cleaned it up well and aside from a few battle scars, I still love it!

I always carry a Leatherman on the belt and a small “pen knife” in a pocket. Maybe have a Buck in another pocket too

I used to always have one on me and I used it all the time. I forgot I had it and tried to walk through security with it after 9/11. They politely removed it from my person.

    DOH!

I carry two, a small kershaw for utility and the Swiss army knife my dad bought me when I was eleven for good luck. I feel naked without them.

Buck 303, carried this same model for 25-30 yrs. Started carrying this when the boys in the black & whites started questioning the folding buck I carried on my belt- – jerr

I’ve worked construction for the last 30 years and I’ve noticed that for the last 15 or so none of new kids never carried one. We figured that because of school restrictions they were never allowed to carry one, so they never got used to having on. Once I talked them into a tool like the Leatherman they couldn’t live with out it. I couldn’t imagine as a kid, not having a pocket knife.

I’ve always carried a Case 2.5-2.75. Case made the best pocket knives for years. If you can find an old one buy it, try it. Mines 25 yrs. +. JMHO and .02

Always have my small Swiss Army with twizzers and scissors. Along with that sometimes a small 3 blade Buck 303 for the real knife part.

I have a buck 444 that I carry in my pocket, but my main knife is a small skinner that I carry on my belt. I really don’t care much for folder because I’ve had 2 that the lock gave out on and folded up on while skining snappers or various other farm jobs, once catching my finger. After that the folder is used for light duty.

Here is what prompted me to ask the question. Sitting here at my desk a female co-worker is trying to open a package sealed with tape. Struggling to get the box open using her finger nail, I reach into my pocket, pull out my knife, open it and then lean over to hand it to her. (Handle first of course). “Here – use this”. To my surprise she was kinda freaked. “They let you through security with that?” she says. I reply “It’s a pocket knife! All guys carry a pocket knife!” “Not my husband!” she replies.

    I may get a memo later today…..

I’m in construction as well. I do not cary a pocket knife. I’m seldom away from my truck and or tool belt. I’ve got utility knifes at my will. Seldom (but not rare) are they in my pants pockets.

Yes you are a dangerous man JJ. How long have you worked for that company and nothing has happened yet.

But I’m sure if you ever decide to go postal, your 2 inch knife will be your first choice.

Although I wouldn’t trade the time we live in for any time in the past, there are a few things that are really sad.

Buddy of mine got canned for carrying a pocket knife into work. It does happen. He asked the HR lady if she had a pair of scissors in her drawer and would she like to compare blades? No answer. Then he pointed out that if he felt he needed a weapon he could throw a file cabinet at her head too. Still no answer. “Zero Tolerance” policies breed idiots.

Another male bites the metrosexual dust….

I carried two benchmades depending on what I was doing, smaller one for fishing and such, larger one for normal wear, least until the smaller one went over the side of the boat, now I carry a CRK kinfe for fishing.
    Nice knife, and cheaper.

I’ve had both the Buck and Schrade foldouts and like both, but the newer style knifes are much lighter and as well made inho.

Makes a difference when you are already carrying 8 rounds of .45 and the holder for them..

Same here Jon…I carried a an Uncle Henry Trapper since I got it for my 8th(I think) birthday…With me being a teacher and the post 9/11 laws getting crazier…I leave it in the armrest of my truck 24/7 now, next to my Leatherman.

I couldn’t agree more with this… I’ve carried a knife since I was 10 and have driven back to the house to grab it if I forget to transfer it to my pocket. Some people have forgotten that knives are a tool and use these types of policies instead of common sense. I’ve opened packages for people, sharpened pencils, fixed eyeglasses, and a number of other useful tasks. When the need arises, it’s second nature…

Amazing how some people look at thingsm this woman for example would rather fight with a box then to simply use a tool. I could understand if ya walked into work witha machete strapped to your belt, but like the other guy said, its a tool. In a survival situation an important tool. Maybe harsh but I think some people prefer to be a victom and/or helpless. Wondering if knives will ever come under attack like guns
