Where is the best place in the metro (preferably south metro) to exchange Shimano Compre rods under warranty? I usually go to Thorne Bros but that’s a hike for me and I heard they’re charging a fee now.

    Thanks.

I think it was $15 at thorne bros when I did it last year… Not much more then what shipping would cost you to send it to Shimano and wait who knows how long for its return. But Thorne bros is only 6 blocks from my house….

I have used Joe’s for that in the past for Fenwick rods, and I am sure they would do Shimano too. They charge $20, but they take care of the packaging and shipping, etc and just call you when it is back from the manufacturer so i figured it was worth it.

Thorne Bros wiil give you one off the shelf and handle the warranty rod on there own. Atleast when I did one there last year.

+1. 5 minutes from my house. Works out nice but the wife doesn’t think so.

    Where did you buy it?

I just send everything I have issues with to Shimano, directly. $18 to ship a rod to CA.

Haha. My dog doesn’t mind and she actually likes to go with!
