Such a nice weekend and I had to spent the whole thing working on my truck. First it was a tranny filter and fluid change. I go out to move it onto a concrete slab to do said work, and the fuel pump has gone out as well!! I go ahead and change filter and fluid as well as flushing the valve bodies. I get the tanks dropped and find I need a special tool to remove fuel lines. Not a good start. It does get better right?

Sounds like the second week I owned my GMC Yukon. Never had any of those problems with my F150 that I owned for 8 years.

You may have opened a can of worms here Heavy. I’ve got a 95 taurus with 235,000 on it. It’s only on it’s second battery, and alternator. Every thing else is still original. It’s the wife,s car so I drive it only every now and then, and it still amazes me with the giddyup it still has.

2004 F150, wouldn’t trade it for the world. Has been great for me. Just go back to Chevy if you dislike Ford so much. No one MADE you buy it I don’t really care what brand of vehicle a guy drives, it’s his boat I’m concerned with

    Three Ford F-150’s

    All have run fine-

My buddies Chevy’s are always having “issues” with tranny’s, valves, computers, etc.

I like the truck to start, run and tow.

Isn’t this truck like a mid 80’s? What do you expect for a vehicle that’s 20some years old? Btw I’m a chevy guy

This is the post HC put up a few weeks ago about buying a Ford truck.

I just traded my chevy to my wifes uncle for a 94 f-150 extended cab with the straight 6. Cheasper on gas and more room, but being a chevy guy all my life i feel a lil out a place!

Not a ford issue. An automobile issue.

Well it can happen to any truck, my f150 is an ’01 with 170k on the clock thus far the only major repair has been a head gasket, other than that, alternator, battery, last stock headlight bulb just burnt out this past winter, couple other little things, like the light indash from the heater controls went out, fan speed reostat went out, and now my turn signal don’t automatically cancel, short of the turn signals, everything’s been fixed no problem and at minimal cost, HECK of a truck imho.

Oh I did have the water pump replaced too, but it seems to be ever so slightly weeping again, must have got a poor rebuilt.

if it werent for bad luck, i wouldnt have any. ive asked myself that very question several times pike. i had 2 fords in highschool. a 70 something granada(first car) and a 75 ford 4wd. the granada was a granny car and the truck went through u joints even when put in by a shop. onced i get all the kinks worked out of it, im sure it will be fine. ps, i got my eye on a 69 c10 with a 454 in it, 4 on the floor.

That c10 would be a sweet ride. My first truck was a 71 c20 with 36’s. We called it the “rebel defender”. Man we beat on that thing.

That wouldn’t be very economic with 4 dollar a gallon gas. Thankyou, for I am Captain Obvious.
