Chappy just text me and said that a Democrat is trying to push up the fishing opener. That would really suck for people who have reservations.

people who “have” reservations…. or net on the reservation… Before we get too wound up about this mother loving Democrat (they don’t want it on mothers day & I agree) I would think the weekend before the opener should be wide open to back up plans a week.

Any changes this session would likely not go into effect until 2013, however it is unlikely this wouldn’t even get a hearing in the Legislature until 2013 and if passed we would be looking at 2014

Obviously some didn’t click the link and try to educate themselves before responding. The big push is also pointing out the horrible winter the resorts/fishing industry had, with the crappy early ice and early ice out. 1 more weekend being open during fishing season would help big time. I wouldn’t call them moron’s for that Sticks and stones

Ya, your partly right, had the morons in state and nat govt not thought so kindly of using our wages for whatever little project they have, we’d be able to spend more time at resorts too…imho

Well the whole notion of the gov’t spending our money unwisely, should be nothing new to anyone…. I will be out on the water on the opener, whether it is the 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th… you probably get my drift What advantage the dem’s would have (as insinuated) to moving it up one weekend, to stick it to the man, I would need pointed out to me specifically. I must be naive or unparanoid ???

Buzz: As long as Senator BAAK is wanting to pass this amendment for Walleye’s and Northern’s, maybe you can convince him to add BASS to this list and we can get to Bassing early.

Why would it suck? They still get to fish on May 11, it just doesn’t happen to be the opener. If they really, really, really have to keep some sort of tradition, I’m sure they can make it out on a local lake.

I just hope it doesn’t interfere with the netting season.
